LetterAgent
Mail physical letters by just asking your AI assistant.
No, not the whole job. Alexa and Siri can dictate your letter's text, set a reminder to mail it, or read a draft back to you, but neither can print, address, stamp, or post a letter. The working hands-free path is an AI assistant connected to a mail service, where you describe the letter, approve the quoted price, and pay.
More than nothing, less than mailing. Useful pieces of the task fit them well:
The pattern is that voice assistants handle words and reminders. Everything physical, the printing, the envelope, the postage, the trip into the mail stream, is outside what they were built to do.
Three missing links, and each one is structural rather than a temporary gap:
| Missing link | Why it blocks the flow |
|---|---|
| No fulfillment | Alexa and Siri have no print shop, no envelope supplier, and no relationship with USPS or Canada Post. They cannot produce a physical object. |
| No payment step | Mailing costs money: print, postage, and a service fee. Neither assistant can quote a per-letter price and take your approval for a one-off payment. |
| No verification | A mail service confirms the page count and the exact price before anything moves. Voice assistants cannot check what they cannot see. |
This is distinct from asking a text-based AI like ChatGPT or Claude, which can at least connect to services through integrations and extensions. Voice assistants are command interpreters with a closed set of skills; the mail-a-letter flow is not among them.
Use an AI assistant that is connected to a mail service. With LetterAgent, the conversation goes like this: you describe the letter and give the recipient's address, your assistant gets a per-letter quote with the page count verified, you approve the exact price, you pay once through Stripe Checkout, and the letter is printed and mailed. No account, no printer, no stamp drawer. It works from a chat window on your phone, which is the closest thing to "tell my assistant and it happens" that exists for physical mail right now.
That works fine for drafting. Hold the side button, dictate the letter, and paste the result into your assistant's chat when you place the order. The transcription is rarely perfect, so proofread the pasted text before you approve anything. Voice dictation also handles punctuation literally ("Dear Mom comma..."), so expect to clean up the commas your voice added.
