Mail a check

Tell your assistant the payee, the amount, and which of your bank accounts the check is drawn on. Your assistant quotes the exact total, you approve it, and the check is printed on secure check stock and mailed first-class to the payee. One flat price, whatever the amount.

US payees are charged $5.00 USD; Canadian payees are charged C$7.00 CAD. The check's face amount does not change the price.

How it works

Tell your assistant the payee's name and address, the check amount, and which bank account to draw from. Your bank account is registered once ahead of time; your assistant only ever references it by name, never by account number.
Approve the exact total. Your assistant states the payee, the check amount, and the service charge ($5.00 for US payees, C$7.00 plus tax for Canadian payees) and waits for your go-ahead. Nothing is created until you approve.
Pay. Your assistant gives you a private payment link (getletteragent.com/pay/LA-XXXXXXXXXX). Pay with any card through Stripe. No account needed.
We print and mail it. The check is printed on secure MICR check stock and mailed first-class. Your assistant can check the status any time, and you get a proof-of-mailing receipt.

What the payee receives

Memo line	Your memo (up to 40 characters), printed on the check
Message	Optional: a short message printed on the same page as the check
Return address	Your sender address is printed as the return address, so undeliverable mail comes back to you
Postage	First-class postage (or the fastest available non-express service for the destination)
Not included	No extra inserts or flyers, just the check

Limits and fine print

Face amount	$1.00 minimum, $25,000.00 maximum per check
Bank account	Checks are drawn on a bank account you register ahead of time. Your assistant references it by name only. Account numbers are never typed into chat, stored, or shown.
Destinations	Payees in the US and Canada (senders can be anywhere)
Tracking	Checks travel as standard mail and are not tracked piece-by-piece. Your proof-of-mailing receipt confirms printing and handoff to the postal system.
Changes	A check cannot be edited after you approve it. It can be cancelled before it enters production; after payment but before printing, the payment is refunded.
