Not through LetterAgent: your fax is quoted, you approve the exact total and pay, and then it is sent, with no send-later option. Many dedicated online fax services do offer scheduled sending by date and time. That matters most when the recipient is in another time zone or only staffed during business hours.
Most of the established online fax services include some form of send-later scheduling. The usual pattern: you compose the fax in the web portal or app, choose a date and time instead of "send now," and the service holds the job in a queue until the clock hits. The job then transmits exactly like a normal fax, with the usual confirmation page or delivery email afterward.
A few things worth knowing about how scheduling works on those services:
| Gotcha | What to do |
|---|---|
| Time zones | Confirm whose time zone the scheduler uses: yours, the service's, or the recipient's. A 9 AM slot set in Toronto time arrives at 6 AM Pacific. |
| Office hours | Fax machines receive 24/7, but nobody sees the page until the office opens. Schedule for shortly after opening, not midnight. |
| Weekends and holidays | A fax sent Saturday sits in the memory tray until Monday. For deadline documents, schedule for a business day. |
| Confirmation timing | The confirmation page records when the fax actually transmitted, not when you scheduled it. Keep both for your records. |
Then send it now and treat the fax like any other time-sensitive document: keep the confirmation, and follow up by phone if the recipient is known for a busy fax line. One honest trade-off is that LetterAgent's model is built around immediate approval and payment rather than queued jobs, so if you truly need a fax to land at a precise future moment (say, 9 AM in the recipient's city on a Monday), a dedicated fax service with a scheduler is the better tool for that job. LetterAgent's fax service is also currently in testing, so for hard deadlines, ask your assistant about the current status before relying on it.
