Can I mail a letter to the King of England?

You can, but not through LetterAgent: we only mail to US and Canadian addresses, and the King lives in London. Mail it yourself to His Majesty The King, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA, United Kingdom, with international postage. Security screens everything, correspondence staff read it, and many writers get a reply on palace stationery.

What is the correct address and format?

Does the King actually read the letters?

Buckingham Palace receives a large volume of mail, and a correspondence team opens, reads, and sorts all of it. Letters that are clearly meant for the King are summarized for him, and he is known to take an interest in what the public writes. You should not expect a personal handwritten reply: most responses come from a lady-in-waiting or an equerry, written on palace stationery, acknowledging the letter on the King's behalf. Still, a reply on palace letterhead is the real thing, and the palace keeps records of correspondence, so the letter lands somewhere that matters.

What should you actually write?

Be genuine and specific. The correspondence team reads everything, and the letters that get noticed are the ones with a real reason: congratulations on an occasion, a question about something the King supports, a personal story about how a royal charity touched your life. Keep it to a page or two; nobody at the palace has time for a memoir. Include your full name and a clear return address on the letter itself, not just the envelope, because envelopes and letters get separated in a busy mailroom.

What should I not send?

Send a letter, not a parcel. Gifts, food, and bulky items complicate security screening and are usually declined or discarded. Everything mailed to the palace goes through security checks first, so keep the contents to paper: a letter, and at most a flat card or photograph. Don't include cash, cheques, or anything that looks like it needs special handling. And write legibly or type it; the people opening thousands of letters a week will thank you.

I'm Canadian. Does that change anything?

The postage does, but nothing else. Canada's head of state is the same person: the King of Canada, who happens to live at Buckingham Palace. So Canadians address the letter exactly the same way and send it as international mail through Canada Post. There is no separate Canadian royal mailbox. One small wrinkle: because the letter leaves the country, give it extra time over the holidays, when transatlantic mail slows down.
