LetterAgent
Mail physical letters by just asking your AI assistant.
Home > Guides > Mailing prompts
Say what the letter should do, who it's for, and give the recipient's full address: name, street, city, state or province, ZIP or postal code, and country. Your assistant drafts the text, shows you a preview, and gets a quote with a verified page count; you approve the price and pay through a Stripe Checkout link before anything prints.
| Ingredient | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The goal in one line. "Ask my landlord to fix the leak." "Cancel my gym membership." "Thank my aunt." | The assistant drafts from the goal; vague goals produce vague letters. |
| The recipient's full address. Name, street, city, state/province, ZIP/postal code, country. | No address, no letter, and whatever you give prints on the envelope exactly as given. |
| Your return address. | Undeliverable mail comes back to the sender address in the envelope's second window. |
| The facts. Dates, amounts, account or claim numbers, deadlines. | Facts in the prompt land in the letter; facts added later mean re-drafting. |
| The tone. "Firm but polite," "warm," "formal." | Setting tone up front avoids a rewrite cycle before the quote locks the text. |
Yes: fill in the brackets and paste. Each one says "mail" explicitly so the assistant knows you want the full send flow, not just a draft.
Landlord repair request:
Mail a letter to my landlord, [FULL NAME], at [street, city, state/province, ZIP/postal code, country]. The [kitchen ceiling / describe the problem] at [your address] has been leaking since [date]. I've reported it [twice by phone / however], and it still isn't fixed. Ask them to repair it within [14] days. Firm but polite. My return address is [your address].
Service cancellation:
Mail a cancellation letter to [COMPANY], [full address]. Cancel my [membership/account], account number [number], effective [date]. Ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and that no further charges will be made. My return address is [your address].
Thank-you note:
Mail a thank-you letter to [FULL NAME], [full address]. Thank them for [the dinner / the gift / their help with ___] on [date]. Warm and personal, a few sentences. My return address is [your address].
Business letter:
Mail a formal business letter to [FULL NAME, TITLE], [COMPANY], [full address]. The letter should [propose / confirm / follow up on ___], referencing [agreement, invoice, or meeting date]. Professional tone, one page if possible. My return address is [your address].
Give the address in the recipient's local format. For Canadian addresses, Canada Post wants the postal code on the same line as the city and province, with two spaces between them: e.g. "Toronto ON M4B 1B3". The assistant carries your formatting straight through to the envelope.
Review the preview, not just the draft. The draft is the words; the preview is the finished page with both addresses as they will print. The preview is your last chance to catch a transposed digit in a ZIP code.
Know that the price locks to the exact quoted text. The quote verifies the page count and fixes the price for that precise wording. If you edit after the quote (even a sentence), ask for a fresh quote, because the page count may have changed.
Put the facts in the first message. Account numbers, dates, and dollar amounts given up front end up in the letter correctly. Dribbling them in over five follow-ups is how a wrong number survives into the final version.
Then the assistant can't mail it yet: a letter needs a deliverable US or Canadian address. Ask the assistant to draft the letter and hold it while you find the address; the draft-then-send flow works fine in two sittings. PO boxes are generally fine as recipient addresses: give the box number exactly as the recipient writes it.
