AI assistants can send physical mail: you describe a letter in chat, the assistant drafts it, shows a preview, and gets a quote with a verified page count. You approve the exact price, pay through a Stripe Checkout link, and the letter is printed and mailed to a US or Canadian address: nothing prints or charges without your approval.
Because plenty of the world still runs on paper, and an AI that can only type into a chat box can't reach it. A landlord who ignores emails reads a letter. A gym membership with a "cancel in writing" clause needs a written cancellation. A demand letter carries weight precisely because someone paid to print and mail it. Email is free, instant, and trivially ignorable; a physical letter signals that the sender meant it.

There are also cases where paper isn't just persuasive but required: notices where a lease or a state or provincial rule demands proof of delivery, filings with deadlines where the mailing date matters, and correspondence with government offices and courts that still expect paper. An AI assistant that can draft the letter but can't get it into a mailbox is only half useful for these jobs.
Letting software spend your money and speak in your name is exactly the kind of thing that should make you nervous. The pattern that makes it safe has three properties: you see everything before it happens, you approve the exact thing that will happen, and the assistant never holds your payment credentials.

The address check deserves emphasis: AI assistants are fluent and confident, which makes a wrong address look exactly like a right one. The preview exists so a human (you) verifies the one thing the AI can't verify by knocking on a door.

Recipients must have US or Canadian addresses. Senders can be anywhere: you can be traveling abroad and still mail a letter to Ohio.
The limits are physical, not technical. Agents can't mail packages: LetterAgent handles letters only. No postcards, no inserts, flyers, or return envelopes: the envelope carries the letter and nothing else. Nothing goes to recipients outside the US and Canada. And anything that needs a human body: an in-person signature, a notarization, handing documents to someone directly: is outside what a mailed letter can do no matter who addresses it.
One more honest limit: no delivery promises. Mail travels through the postal system at the postal system's pace. The quote covers printing, postage, and the service fee: not a guaranteed arrival date.
Proofread addresses like a hawk. Names, street numbers, apartment numbers, ZIP and postal codes. The double-window envelope is convenient: no hand-addressing, but it prints exactly what you confirmed.
Canada formats differ. Canadian addresses put the postal code on the same line as the city and province, separated by two spaces (e.g. "Toronto ON M4B 1B3"). Give the assistant the address in the recipient's local format and it will carry it through.
Match the proof to the stakes. Standard mail for a thank-you note; certified or registered when you'd need to prove delivery later. The registered option has to be requested before the quote: it can't be bolted on after mailing.
